OXAMIC ACID, [14C(U)] - Introduction

OXAMIC ACID, also known as acetic acid, is an organic compound with a chemical formula of C2H3NO3. It is a colorless solid and stable at room temperature. OXAMIC ACID is obtained by the reaction of hydroxylamine and formic acid, which is a derivative of carboxylic acid.

One of the main uses of OXAMIC ACID is as a negatively charged ligand for the preparation of metal complexes. It can form stable complexes with metal ions and play an important role in catalytic reactions. In addition, OXAMIC ACID can also be used to synthesize other organic compounds, such as amino acids, amides, etc.

OXAMIC ACID preparation method mainly has two kinds. One is obtained by the condensation reaction of formic acid and hydroxylamine. The other is obtained by the reaction of formic acid and isocyanate.

There is not a lot of information about the safety of OXAMIC ACID. However, as an organic compound, it is still necessary to pay attention to safety when used. OXAMIC ACID should be kept away from open flames and high temperatures, and avoid contact with skin or inhalation of its dust. When using or handling the compound, follow relevant safety practices and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
